Being Calm in the Unknown

How do you respond when it doesn’t look like anything is happening in your life?

I planted a seed in 2021. Few days after, it didn’t germinate. So I became worried, thinking “what did I not do right”.
I watered the soil enough and kept it in a well lit position, but my doubts led me to change the position from my window seal to my bed head.
As if that was not enough, I then dug up the seed, and saw that it was still there. Cos I thought the seed was dormant.
Anyways, I covered it back and decided to rest (I couldn’t be bothered anymore). Besides, the planting instructor told us to give the plant a couple of weeks for it to germinate. I was just impatient.
Eventually, the first sprout came out. The rest they say is history.
This experience taught me few things that I’d love you to also learn. Even if you already know them, take this blog-post as a reminder and an opportunity to relearn the following:
When it looks like nothing is working, something is actually working behind the scene. If only you can just believe the best and be patient in the silence.
That you did everything right (created the right systems & structures) for an initiative to work, doesn’t mean “process” will not have it’s due course. Nothing just happens, it will follow due process. Even your marketing endeavors will not just start to produce results from day 1. It will take time.
The strength & wisdom needed to sustain lasting visions is built in the quiet seasons of our lives. Don’t rush out of your quiet seasons.
Practice being at rest in the unknown & quiet moments. God has got your back. The uncertainties will turn out for your good.
