The 10-Minute Growth Revolution: How to Transform Your Life When Time Isn't on Your Side in 2025

I was invited to speak at an event last year on a topic I love so much 'Personal Growth'. In the Q & A session, someone asked how they could juggle making time for personal growth alongside work & other activities i.e. personal commitments such as Church volunteering, hobbies and family life.

This was my answer: it’s not easy to juggle all, but you must be intentional about your personal growth by creating time for it. You could start by devoting 10 minutes a day to read a book or listen to a podcast/message/video course in the area you want to grow in. Out of 24 hours in a day, you should be able to carve out at least 10 minutes for your personal development.

This is what I practice for myself and it works. I do more than 10 minutes though. I ensure that I learn something daily. The point is, if you don’t prioritize your growth, you won’t grow. When it comes to personal growth & development, you have to do it for yourself. No one can do it for you!! I repeat no one. People can pray for you, speak words over your life, refer you to their contacts, but if you don’t develop yourself to fine tune your character, attitude, skills & knowledge, then there'll be no growth.

In addition to the 10 minute strategy, you can schedule your personal development to be done in your peak productive hours. This is the period in 24 hours when you’re most alert, inspired and energetic to focus on things. For me, I am most alert in the mornings. So if I wanted to get something tangible done, I could use my mornings. However, because I love reading and gaining knowledge, anytime of the day works for me.

If you’re someone who is just starting to develop their personal development muscle, I advise that you start small with the 10 minutes strategy and work it into when you’re most alert.

Also leverage community. Find a community of people who are pursuing personal development and tag along to find the needed inspiration to grow.

I hope these ideas help.

This week, introspectively check your life to see areas where you need to grow and make a plan to grow in those areas.
